SKIN
skin boosters, explained
27 July 2026 · 4 min read
Skin boosters are talked about a great deal and explained rather less. This is a calm walk through what they are, how they differ from other skin treatments, and how the decision about suitability is actually made at Pelin Saray.
what a skin booster is
A skin booster is a treatment aimed at the quality of the skin itself: how hydrated, supple and settled it feels and appears. It is designed to support the skin's hydration from within, rather than changing the shape or structure of the face.
That distinction matters. People sometimes arrive worried that any treatment in this area will change how they look. A skin booster is not about looking different. At its best, it is about your own skin, behaving a little more like it does on its good days.
how it differs from other skin treatments
It helps to place skin boosters alongside the other skin work at the practice:
- Microneedling works with the surface of the skin and its own renewal process.
- A skin booster works on hydration and skin quality from within.
- Neither is about volume, shape or altering features; both are quality-of-skin treatments.
Which one suits you, or whether either does, is not something to decide from an article. Skin that looks tired can be asking for very different things: sleep, a simpler routine, a season of patience, or a treatment. The job of the consultation is to tell those apart honestly.
how suitability is decided
Because a skin booster is an injectable treatment, the path to it at Pelin Saray is deliberately unhurried. Nothing is agreed before an in-person consultation, and injectable treatments are available to adults aged 18 and over.
At the consultation, Pelin will:
- Look at your skin properly, in person and in honest light.
- Take your medical history, which shapes what is safe and sensible for you.
- Listen to what you want, and what you would rather avoid.
- Tell you plainly whether a skin booster is right for you, or whether something else, including nothing, would serve you better.
If the answer is yes and you want to go ahead, everything is explained before anything is decided: what the treatment involves, what to expect on the day, and how aftercare works.
what to expect from the process
Skin booster plans are sometimes discussed as more than one session, depending on the skin and the goal; what that looks like for you is agreed at consultation, never assumed.
Afterwards, you go home with clear, personal aftercare guidance, and Pelin follows up to see how you are getting on. As with every treatment at the practice, results vary from person to person, and no specific outcome is ever promised.
questions people often ask
Will I look different afterwards? That is not the aim. A skin booster is a quality-of-skin treatment; the ambition is your own skin, looked after, not a new face. People around you are more likely to ask if you have slept well than to ask what you have done.
Is there anything to plan around? Any injectable treatment can leave the skin looking a little unsettled for a short time, and what that means for you is explained honestly at your consultation, before anything is decided.
How do I know it is right for me? You do not have to know. That is the consultation's job, and it is a genuinely open question when you arrive. If a simpler route would serve your skin better, that is the recommendation you will hear.
What does it cost? No two plans are the same, so costs are discussed openly at your consultation, once it is clear what actually suits you. Nothing is quoted from a menu, because nothing here is chosen from one.
the quiet appeal
The people who tend to be happiest with skin boosters are usually not chasing a transformation. They want their skin to feel cared for and to look like itself, well rested. That ambition, modest and precise, is very much at home at Pelin Saray.
If that sounds like you, the sensible next step is not a booking for a treatment. It is a conversation. Skin boosters sit within the practice's wider skin treatments, and you can read more on the skin treatments page.
The honest way to find out if a skin booster suits you is to ask in person. Every plan begins with a consultation, and no is always an available answer.
