Suitability and safety

Is it right for me?

Sometimes the honest answer is not yet, and sometimes it is no. This page says who treatments here tend to suit, who should talk first, and what Pelin will not do.

it tends to suit you if

  • You would like an honest opinion before you decide anything, from someone who is not working through a menu.

  • You are nervous about looking done, and would rather do less than too much.

  • You want the same person at the consultation, the treatment and the follow-up.

  • You are curious but not in a hurry. Nothing here is sold on the day you first walk in.

talk first if

None of these is a no. Each is a reason for the conversation to happen before the booking rather than after it.

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding; some treatments wait, and the consultation says which.

  • You have an active skin infection, a cold sore, or a flare of a skin condition in the area.

  • You have had a treatment elsewhere recently, or you are between treatments with another practitioner.

  • You take medication or have a medical condition that affects your skin, healing or bruising.

  • You are not sure you want anything at all. That is a good reason to talk, not a reason to stay away.

Write to Pelin first

what Pelin will not do

Five lines that have not changed in more than eleven years of practice.

  • No treatment without a consultation first.
  • No treatment I would not have myself.
  • No treatment under 18.
  • No treatment on the day you first walk in, for injectable work.
  • No pressure, no packages pushed, no upsell in the chair.

consent and records

Consent, in writing

Before any treatment you read and sign a consent form specific to what is planned, with time to ask questions. You can withdraw consent at any point, including on the day.

Your records, your data

Your consultation notes and medical history are kept securely and used only to look after you. Nothing is shared and no photograph is published without your separate, written yes.

One practitioner, one standard

There is no team to be passed along to. The person who assesses you is the person who treats you and follows up, which is the simplest safety measure there is.

The consultation is where suitability is actually decided. Everything above is the honest version of what that conversation covers.
