your first visit: what happens
3 August 2026 · 4 min read
Booking a first appointment anywhere new comes with questions. Where do I go? What will I be asked? Do I need to know what I want? This is a step-by-step account of a first visit to Pelin Saray, so that nothing on the day is a surprise.
The short version: you arrive, you talk, you are listened to, and you leave with honest options and no obligation. Here is the longer one.
before you arrive
Pelin Saray works from 50 Hill Rise in Richmond, London TW10 6UB, within easy reach of Kew, Sheen and Twickenham. Appointments only, one person at a time; there is no waiting room bustle because there is no waiting room crowd.
You do not need to prepare anything, and you do not need to know which treatment you want. Most people arrive with a feeling rather than a treatment name. That is expected, and it is exactly what the first appointment is for.
If it helps, jot down any questions beforehand, and be ready to talk briefly about your medical history. That is all.
a note on nerves
Feeling slightly nervous before a first visit is common, and nothing to apologise for. Plenty of people arrive having thought about coming for months, sometimes years, often carrying a story about a past experience that put them off.
All of that is welcome in the room. The pace of the visit is designed for exactly this: nothing happens quickly, nothing happens without explanation, and nothing happens at all unless you decide it should.
step one: arrive and settle
The first few minutes are deliberately unhurried. You arrive, you settle in, and the room stays quiet on purpose. There is no form thrust at you at the door and no sense of a queue behind you.
Every appointment at the practice is with Pelin herself, from the first hello onwards. The person you meet at the start is the person who will answer your questions, and, if you go ahead at any point, the person who will carry out every treatment and every follow-up.
step two: talk and listen
The heart of the visit is a proper conversation. Pelin will ask about your skin, your medical history, and what has brought you in. Just as much time goes to what you want to keep as to what you might want to change.
Expect to be listened to more than talked at. Your idea of natural, your worries, your previous experiences good and bad: all of it is relevant, and none of it is rushed. Pelin will also look at your skin properly, in person, because no photograph or description replaces that.
step three: honest options
Then comes the part the whole practice is built on: honesty about your options. Pelin explains what is genuinely worth considering for you, in plain language, and what is not worth doing at all. The option of doing nothing is always presented when it is the truthful answer.
Costs are part of this conversation too, openly discussed at the consultation once it is clear what, if anything, actually suits you. Nothing is quoted from a menu, because nothing here is chosen from one.
You are welcome to ask anything at this stage. Questions are treated as a sign of good judgement, not resistance.
step four: your decision, no obligation
The visit ends with the decision resting where it belongs: with you. If you want to go ahead with a plan, next steps are agreed at your pace. If you want to go away and think, that is not just tolerated but encouraged. If you decide it is not for you, that is a perfectly good outcome of an honest conversation.
There is no follow-up pressure afterwards. No countdown, no chasing. The practice is built for people who come back because they want to.
after your visit
If a treatment is planned, you will know exactly what to expect before anything happens, and aftercare and follow-up are part of every plan. If nothing is planned, the door simply stays open, and you can return whenever the time feels right.
You can read more about how the first appointment is structured on the initial consultation page. And when you are ready, booking takes a minute.
The first visit is a conversation, not a commitment. Come with questions, leave with honest answers.
